    Escaping in Sherwood Forest

At the weekend I spent a lovely few days at Sherwood Forest Centre Parcs with some of my best friends from university. It proved to be the ultimate escape from the stresses of work and life with lots of laughter, Prosecco and sunshine. Here’s a little peek at what we got up to… We stayed in a 4 person woodlands lodge which came with two bedrooms (1 x double, 1 x twin), lounge/diner, kitchen and bathroom with an additional separate toilet. There was plenty of space! The lounge looked out on to a patio equipped with BBQ and we had some guest appearances (sometimes unwanted) from the local wildlife. The squirrels were pretty…

    Camping in Cromer

The other weekend I spent a lovely few days away camping with friends on the Norfolk coast. We stayed at Woodhill Park in the seaside town of Cromer which had gorgeous views of the sea and was only a 5 minute walk to East Runton beach. I’ve only ever been camping at festivals so having actual showers and flushing toilets felt like an absolute luxury! We spent the weekend exploring Cromer – going on some beautiful coastal walks, spending time on the beach and of course a few visits to the pub and the arcades. It was lovely to get away, have a change of scenery and enjoy being outdoors for the weekend. Safe…

    Mountain Biking

The other weekend I went mountain biking for the first time in about 12 years and I bloody loved it! I hadn’t been mountain biking since a school camping trip to the Lake District in year 8 but my friends from work had been mentioning it for a while and a free weekend came up so I thought oh why not let’s give it a try and I’m so happy I did…. My friend from work is a keen mountain biker and had a few spare bikes so luckily I was able to borrow one for the day. The major differences I felt on the bike at first were :…

How to spend 24 hours in Bruges

At the beginning of the month Matt and I spent a lovely long weekend in Belgium exploring Bruges, Ghent, Brussels and of course spending a day at the Tour of Flanders for the cycling which you can read about here. Bruges was our first stop for the weekend and safe to say we managed to pack a lot in during 24 hours! I’ve therefore put together a recommended itinenary of top things to do and places to visit if you’re short on time whilst visiting this beautiful place 🙂 The Belfort The Belfort located in the centre of the city is a medieval bell tower which when you’ve climbed all 370 steps…

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Hello! Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend with lots of chocolate! I’m back up North after a lovely weekend away down South with my best friends from university. We spent three nights in Worthing on the southern coast of England where the gorgeous weather featured in the photos is a far distant memory compared to the cloudy wet weather of Leeds this evening! I hadn’t been on holiday by the sea in the UK for probably about ten years! It brought back great childhood memories of family holidays to the Isle of Wight using all my spending money on the 2p machines, building sandcastles with my dad and eating…
