Health & Fitness Goals : April

So we might be a few days into April already (oops) but here is a look back at last month’s health & fitness goals and a look at what I want to achieve in April. Last month.. 1. Lunchtime Walks So I set myself the challenge of going for a lunchtime walk at least twice a week mainly to get myself away from the desk . Now it wasn’t always for a walk but I did manage to eat my lunch away from my desk the majority of the month. Work have created a weekly programme of activity over lunchtimes so I also enjoyed staff sing along and visits to Peppa…

    Women’s Cycling Accessories Haul

Christmas and the days of doing nothing but watching Harry Potter films, drinking red wine and eating lots of brie sadly feel like a lifetime ago but I wanted to share with you some presents I got in a cycling themed stocking from Matt. I can still get away with talking about Christmas late January right…? I’m just going to pretend I can!  I didn’t want to go digging around for prices because I thought that was a bit rude when they were Christmas presents so I’ve linked you to a general website for each item or if you google the names and brands I’m sure they’ll come up 🙂  Women’s…

    January Gym Haul

I’ve been going to the gym for a few months now which you can read about here.Whilst I had some gym wear already, as I’m going more frequently I was finding I was often stuck if I hadn’t done a load of washing during the week and well –  it’d be rude not to take advantage of some bargains! It’s of course January and with pennies tight I decided to hit the rails of TK Maxx and the Nike Factory Outlet  to see what I could find…. Tops 1. Under Armour Top  So let’s begin with the only colourful item (albeit the trainers) as this is a rare occasion! This bright blue t shirt…

    Cycling : 2016 Progress & 2017 Goals

My previous two posts have been reflective celebrating my first year blogging (woohoo) and my changing attitude towards the gym in 2016. So I thought why not make it a hat-rick ey – and look back on my first year of cycling where I have gone from literally screaming on the roads to riding my first 50 miler.  Oh how I’ve changed… Now I think it’s pretty obvious to you all (or at least I hope) that I am no serious cyclist – I mean my blog is called pedal and pout for goodness sake and I still cycle in my trainers (oh hey spot the newbie) but this year…

    Making friends with the gym

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas 🙂 I spent mine watching all the Harry Potter films, eating too much chocolate and drinking a lot of prosecco. A HUGE contradiction to what I’m about to write but hey it was the festive season & calories don’t count at Christmas – right? Last week I shared with you my thoughts on my first year blogging so in true January motivational spirit I thought I’d reflect on one of my fitness journey’s in 2016 – the gym. I joined my local gym late August and didn’t quite get off to the best start. I had a weight loss induction…

    Making positive changes

Back in August I shared with you all my commitment to start listening to my body and learning how to take better care of it. I’ve made some positive changes since then so I thought it was about time I gave you a little update… Exercise  The first step I took was joining my local Pure Gym. I wanted to get into a routine and with winter on it’s way I knew I wouldn’t be jumping up for joy cycling in the cold and rain. The first time I went I had an induction which involved some exercises to assess my fitness levels. It didn’t go too well and after some…

    Inspiring fitness blogs I love

I’ve recently been feeling extremely demotivated about achieving my goals and it’s safe to say I’ve definitely gone off track over the past two months…(oops). Luckily though there are some fantastic blogs out there which have encouraged me to get back off my arse again. Here’s a pick of some of my favourites…. Vivianna Does Makeup VDM was one of the first blogs I discovered when I found the world of blogging. In the past it has mainly focused on beauty (clues in the name) however over the past 18 months Anna has delved more into fitness and shared her journey with us. In the ‘Fitness Files’ series Anna has shared…

    Listening to my body

My body is well and truly judging me right now. A couple of days spent with the girls celebrating new jobs, reunions and life in general has led to my body absolutely hating on me – so much so that I’m currently snuggled up in bed feeling rather sorry for myself looking super fly with a damp towel on my head because hey I’m just too damn sexy. Now don’t get me wrong I had the best few days – I mean look at us – cuties. But it is safe to say that my recycling bin is very much full of empty Prosecco bottles and the only vegetables (if any) which my eyes…

5 tips for staying calm at work

I’m writing this post as I’ve found myself feeling quite irritable and tired with the impacts of working both during the week and on weekends finally catching up on me. Knowing full well I needed to take a rest I’ve booked a few day off work and are currently writing this post in the glorious sunshine in my garden. I even have suncream on and a glass of Fanta Lemon in hand – it must be summer…. Everyone at some point in their lives will have felt some stress or anxiety throughout their career caused by a particular job, it’s understandable – after all we are only human! However, unfortunately for some these overwhelming…
