    A day in Paris

Last weekend I had a girly weekend away with my friends Becky and Phoebe where we spent a day in Paris exploring the city in the sunshine and a day being big kids at Disneyland. I had only visited Paris once before for the afternoon as a 14 year old with school so I was excited to visit again to see more. Whilst we only had a day – we enjoyed a leisurely day visiting the top sights, treating ourselves to a cocktail on the Champs-Élysées, wondering the back streets admiring the beautiful buildings and dining al fresco with the locals. I thought it’d be useful to share with you what we…

A mini break in the Lake District

Last month, Matt and I spent two nights in the Lake District staying at the Quiet Site in one of their hobbit holes. Yes you heard me correctly, a hobbit hole and it was pretty damn cool so I thought I would share with you what we got up too! Where we stayed… The Quiet Site is located in Ullswater with beautiful views of the valley and as the name suggests is a really tranquil and relaxing area. It was definitely a welcome change of pace compared to our inter-railing adventure the previous month and was exactly what we needed to recharge. There are several options for accommodation on the…

Why Montenegro should be on your travel bucket list

Last October (yep this has been sat in my drafts for a while) Matt and I spent a wonderful week exploring Montenegro with two visits to Croatia and a drive through Albania & Bosnia-Herzegovina (we did a lot in 7 days). After the most expensive year ever (buying a house) we wanted a cheap European get away somewhere warmer and sunnier than England. Croatia had been on our list for a few years and been in our minds most recently thanks to spending months binge watching Game of Thrones. However after some research online and thanks to recommendations from friends we found a deal for 7 nights in a 5…

    A day in the Dubrovnik

It’s weird to think that only two weeks ago today Matt and I were exploring the beautiful Dubrovnik Old Town, enjoying the sun and pointing at all the Game of Throne locations! We recently spent a week away in Montenegro which I will be telling you all about in a separate post but as we rented a car for the week and it was only two hours away from our hotel we decided to make the most of it and have a little road trip to Croatia. Croatia had been high on our list for a long time and as very avid newbie Game of Thrones fans, I especially was…

    An afternoon at Chatsworth House

At the beginning of the month I spent a lovely few days away in the Peak District with the girls from uni. We stayed in the most beautiful country cottage in Gratton and spent the weekend catching up, drinking Prosecco and taking in the fresh country air. We spent one afternoon exploring the very picturesque Chatsworth House and well, I couldn’t not share the photos with you!  When I was younger we used to go for family days out and I remember playing in the gardens and looking up at the elaborate decorations on the huge Christmas trees at Christmas time. Therefore, when we discovered we were staying only half…

    Beachin’ in Brighton

A few weeks ago I spent a lovely few days away in Brighton with my two close pals Phoebe & Becky for a little summer getaway by the sea. I’d only ever visited Brighton once before for an afternoon and after reading so much about it on some of my favourite blogs such as The Anna Edit and Hello October having 3 days to brunch, shop and drink sounded wonderful – and that’s exactly what we did. I absolutely love the British seaside (even in the rain…) and childhood memories of holidays on the Isle of Wight came flooding back. We strolled along the seafront, pretended we were kids on…

    Cos I bloody love Yorkshire

All eyes were on Yorkshire again last weekend as the Tour de Yorkshire came back for a third time showcasing the very best cyclists and of course the very best county <3 I therefore thought I’d share with you two of my favourite places to go in Yorkshire that I visited the same weekend. A legacy from the Tour de France in 2014, the Tour de Yorkshire is a three day cycling stage race organised by Welcome to Yorkshire and the Amaury Sport Organisation who are the brains behind the Tour de France – you might have heard of it…. Last year I had the pleasure of watching the race…

    Escaping in Sherwood Forest

At the weekend I spent a lovely few days at Sherwood Forest Centre Parcs with some of my best friends from university. It proved to be the ultimate escape from the stresses of work and life with lots of laughter, Prosecco and sunshine. Here’s a little peek at what we got up to… We stayed in a 4 person woodlands lodge which came with two bedrooms (1 x double, 1 x twin), lounge/diner, kitchen and bathroom with an additional separate toilet. There was plenty of space! The lounge looked out on to a patio equipped with BBQ and we had some guest appearances (sometimes unwanted) from the local wildlife. The squirrels were pretty…

Christmas, cocktails & cycling in Manchester

This weekend we attended the Revolution Series once again at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester and it was FANTASTIC as always so thought I would share the day with you! We decided to make a day out of it and arrive in Manchester mid-day to have a wonder around the Christmas markets and see if we could find any Black Friday weekend bargains.     The Christmas markets in Manchester are HUGE – pretty much any pedestrianised area in the centre is covered with independent stalls selling international food, drink and an array of gifts to buy for friends, family or yourself. We didn’t last long as it was very busy…
