Health & Fitness Goals : December

Yussss it’s December – FINALLY! I’ve been ready for Christmas since the beginning of November so I am very happy we are only three weeks away (even though I still pretty much have all my Christmas shopping to do, oops). This obviously is my final monthly instalment of my health & fitness goals for the year and I think at some point this month I’m going to take the time to read all my past posts to see how things have changed as there’s definitely been phases of confidence & motivation and phases of ‘nah mate not b othered’. Whilst I’ve not enjoyed writing these posts or even blogging in…

Health & Fitness Goals : November

I’m very happy it’s November. Not only because that means we are getting closer to Christmas (which this year I am VERY excited for) but it means that after this I only have to write one more monthly health & fitness post! I’ve been going off writing this series since about August but I can’t bring myself to miss a month or stop until I’ve done the whole year. Last month…  So October was all about keeping up with my training for my 10K which is only in a few days! Not panicking at all (eye roll). The beginning of the month I found quite difficult, work was busy,…

Health & Fitness Goals : October

Well, hello – it’s been a few weeks (oops). I’m not entirely sure where the time has gone! I’ve had a really busy few weeks at work, going on holiday, catching up with friends and attempting to have some form of training plan for my upcoming 10K. Whilst this is more of a mid month update, better late than never! Last month… 10k Training So there’s only a few weeks now until I take part in my first ever race and I am slightly worried but as long as I finish, I’ll be happy! The aim for the rest of this month is to keep to a routine of 3…

Health & Fitness Goals : September

Happy September! As I mentioned in my most recent blog post there’s something about this month which feels like a new chapter with that back to school, back to uni feeling. I’m clearly thinking I’m younger than I am…. Last month… Lunch Breaks I could have done this more but I definitely made a start so that’s a step in the right direction. Working right next to a park I utilised my lunch breaks by going for a few walks, runs and bootcamp. Trying to make the most of the summer whilst it lasted! Taking time out… I was feeling quite stressed and unsettled in July so August brought a welcome week…

Health & Fitness Goals : August

I honestly don’t know how we have got to August! We have been in our house 6 weeks now and whilst the chaos has settled I still don’t feel like I’m quite back into a routine yet but hopefully I’ll get there this month… Last month… So July was all about getting back on it to be honest! After a month of living out of boxes, a considerable number of weeks away from the gym (more than I’d like to admit) and a busy month at work I wanted to keep it simple, not put too much pressure on myself and take it back to the basics. I’ve definitely…

    Leeds Girls Can

Last month I finally plucked up the courage and signed up to a Leeds Girls Can cycling event in association with Breeze – ticking off one of my goals for the month and well, it got me wondering why the hell had I not done this before? Being a HUGE fan of the This Girl Can campaign (my thoughts on the campaign here) I’ve been following Leeds Girls Can for a while now on their active social media and had always thought how pretty awesome their events looked but always chickened out of it. Anyways, when I saw they were running free (yes, free) cycling sessions at the shiny new Brownlee Centre…

Health & Fitness Goals : July

So, you may have noticed that it’s been a whole month since my last post as June was very very busy. If you follow me on twitter you might have seen my many tweets complaining about packing, assembling flat pack furniture and having no wifi but it’s all pretty worth it as Matt and I finally moved into our very own home, that we actually own and I feel extremely lucky. I can’t say it’s been my healthiest month physically or mentally but let’s take a look to see what goals I managed to adhere too in routine pedalandpout monthly goals style. Last month… 1. Leeds Girls Can I challenged…

Health & Fitness Goals : June

I’m sorry but how is it June already? JUNE! Here’s the usual monthly roundup of my health & fitness goals (both physical and mental health) telling you how I got on with my targets last month and what I’m looking at achieving next! Last month… 1. Self care I definitely feel like I’m finally managing to achieve this after 25 years! May was very busy both at work and personally but I feel like I stayed calm (the majority of the time) and allowed myself to switch off and distance myself more from work when I am at home. I spent a lot of time catching up with friends and…

Health & Fitness Goals : May

So these just keep on getting later and later in the month! Soz. Last month… 1. Healthier lunches & snacks I definitely found myself consciously choosing healthier snacks instead of the go to diet coke and twix. I snacked on more fruit and discovered Metcalfe’s rice cakes mmmm. 2. Cleats I DID IT! There’s an amusing account in this blog post… 3. Cardio I bumped up the cardio both in gym visits on my own and in classes. I have a love hate relationship with spin but as I have been going more frequently and making it more of a staple in my routine I’ve definitely felt an improvement in my fitness.…
