2018 so far

Well hello there! It’s been a while hasn’t it? The last time I properly blogged was February so I thought it was about time for a little catch up to tell you what I’ve been up too as 2018 has been pretty damn good so far!

I got a new job….

My goal for 2018 was to get a new job and in April of this year I ticked that achievement off the list! After 3 and a half years it was time for me to move on. As much as I absolutely loved the people I worked with, I got to the point where I knew exactly what I was doing and with no opportunity to progress I was getting bored. I needed a new challenge and my new role is most definitely that! I’ve been there about 3 months now and already feel like I have learnt so much and contributed to the organisation. The role is with a national charity who’s cause is close to my heart and it feels much more fulfilling and rewarding when you know you’re helping to make a difference. I’m absolutely loving it and can’t wait for some exciting upcoming projects.

We went inter-railing….

Matt and I spent an absolutely fantastic two weeks inter railing visiting Denmark, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. It was an action packed adventure and I loved every single moment. I visited some cities and countries I had never been too before and fell back in love all over again with those I had. I feel very lucky that we got to see as much as we did and I can’t wait to tell you all about it as there’s definitely going to be lots of travel posts coming your way.

I’ve been exploring the UK….

It’s easy to forget what’s on your doorstep sometimes however this year I’ve been lucky enough to spend weekends away in Chester exploring independent coffee shops and wondering the city walls, cocktails and dancing in Liverpool, visiting friends and playing tourist in London, country walks and picturesque scenery in the Lake District and hot tub prosecco fuelled giggles in Sherwood Forest.

So what about the rest of the year?

Home Improvements

So naturally, we decided to spend our money on the inter railing adventure instead of the house. However, now we are home – we are back saving and hopefully have some exciting projects to plan for next year which we can get stuck in to. That probably means that for now we may just be focussing on smaller and cheaper jobs but lets face it… it doesn’t take much for me to get carried away!

Disneyland Paris

Yes I’m 26 and have a girls holiday to Disneyland booked. You’re never too old for Disney in my opinion. I’m spending a weekend away with my friends Becky and Phoebe and I cannot wait for us to be big kids.

Celebrating with friends…

So it turns out that we are now apparently adults – who knew? We therefore have some exciting events to celebrate including weddings and new houses. I’m especially excited for your hen do Lorna!

Getting fit!

I miss the gym which is a sentence I never thought I’d say. About a year and a half ago I was exercising 3-4 times a week and felt great. I didn’t lose a huge amount of weight but I felt stronger, more toned and so much better mentally. I’m the first to admit that I can be pretty lazy and come up with excuses to not exercise so I want to change that mindset and make it more of a priority.

I’ll be sure to keep you all updated….

What are your plans or goals for 2018? I’d love to hear!
