    Kitchen Reveal

The last time I posted about the house I shared our ongoing journey with you as we fixed terrace 53 after a house fire. It’s now been three months since we moved back in and I thought it was finally about time I showed you the kitchen now it’s nearly finished….(and yes the oven is on in all the pictures, I had some hash browns cooking haha). In the photos above you can see what it looks like now, what it looked like when we first bought the house and moved in and what it looked like after we did the first decoration ourselves shortly after moving in. You’ll see…

20 things that brought me joy in December

So I’m very aware it’s the middle of January (in fact people are already excited for pancake day next month) but I do love looking back at these posts and as December was my favourite month I couldn’t miss it! Better late than never…  In case the photo wasn’t enough of a give away –  Matt asked me to marry him on the 8th December and I couldn’t be happier. It was the perfect proposal – just us two in our beautiful home <3 Safe to say we’ve drunk a lot of champagne to celebrate…. 2.  Which takes me nicely onto the next equally exciting event of last month…

    My Christmas Bucket List

Now that the 1st December has passed it’s well and truly time to talk about Christmas. I’m determined to make this year even more special as we move back into the house and for the first time this year we’ll actually be cooking Christmas dinner in our very own home and I’m so excited. (Although I say we but let’s be honest – Matt is head chef). Our Christmas traditions are a few days delayed this year as we wait to move back in to the house but I thought it would be nice to share with you all my Christmas bucket list and the traditions which really mark the…

20 things that brought me joy in November…

I think it’s safe to say that this month we more than made up for not socialising in October catching up with friends over beer and food – what’s better? Whilst we’re not back in the house yet we are so very close and we have seen it completely transform the past few weeks. Here’s 20 things that brought me joy in November…. 1. Lunch at the Ivy in Leeds with my mum. 2. The H&M in Glasgow – oh my, that home department. 3. Celebrating my friend Anisha’s birthday with a few g&t’s. 4. Fundraising at Trafford for the amazing charity I work for – so incredibly proud…

Bedroom Renovation : Inspiration & Plans

I think other than the kitchen , our bedroom is the room I am most excited to see transformed. We hadn’t touched it since moving in as we prioritised decorating downstairs and other than purchasing the furniture – the Hoxton range from Next we hadn’t done much else. The walls were pretty boring with bare magnolia, it often resembled a floordrobe and lacked any of our personality. As we have been forced into redecorating earlier than planned we are using the opportunity to transform it into a relaxing and decluttered space and so I thought I’d share with you what we have in mind….. Colour Colour wise we have gone…

    Fixing Terrace 53

The effects of severe smoke damage from our house fire in September has resulted in some what of a rather extensive impromptu makeover of the whole house which if you follow me on instagram you will have seen. Walls have been stripped back to the brick and carpets ripped up! Now that we are a few weeks on and feeling more settled in our rented accommodation we are trying to concentrate on the positives of the situation which are that we get to start again from scratch, make changes, utilise the help of the fantastic team of builders, joiners and plumbers and do things which we probably wouldn’t have been…

20 things that brought me joy in October

October has absolutely flown past me. Other than my birthday it is my favourite time of the year as autumn arrives with its beautiful orange leaves, sunny crisp days and the first steps towards winter hibernation –  which obviously include my obligatory rerun of Gilmore Girls from the very beginning and the purchasing of many many scarves. I don’t think I’ve fully embraced October as much as I would have hoped. The house has obviously been still very much on the forefront of our minds and not forgetting everything that comes with it from renting a house in the interim to balancing work whilst multiple tradesmen need letting in…

20 things that brought me joy in September

September didn’t exactly end the way we ever thought it would. An electrical appliance fault resulted in a house fire in our beautiful home causing severe smoke damage throughout the house. The past week has been extremely difficult and we are still coming to terms with everything but I thought given our current situation it was even more important that I wrote about the things that brought me joy in September, to remind me of those small but yet very special moments which help shape us and our days <3 1. Spending a day being the biggest kid ever skipping around Disneyland Paris. 2. Queer Eye marathons cosied up on the sofa.…

    A day in Paris

Last weekend I had a girly weekend away with my friends Becky and Phoebe where we spent a day in Paris exploring the city in the sunshine and a day being big kids at Disneyland. I had only visited Paris once before for the afternoon as a 14 year old with school so I was excited to visit again to see more. Whilst we only had a day – we enjoyed a leisurely day visiting the top sights, treating ourselves to a cocktail on the Champs-Élysées, wondering the back streets admiring the beautiful buildings and dining al fresco with the locals. I thought it’d be useful to share with you what we…
